Roselea FC was delighted to host the Parramatta Council’s Holiday Football Clinic.  Over 60 children from all over the Parramatta LGA enjoyed a variety of football skills and games, many for the first time.

We were very privileged to have Alix, Lee, Mush and Mar from the Western Sydney Wanderers join our resident Roselea FC coaches to run the kids through a series of stations.

Lots of fun was had by everyone.  We hope to see you all at out Aldi KickOff program in October.

To All our Roselea Football Family,

It was pleasing to see how many teams and families showed up to the Mini/Junior Presentation day on the 9th September 2017.

The hard work from the Committee was rewarded by the attendance of so many, and this was a day of celebration for the Kids, Parents, Coaches and Managers for all their hard work throughout the 2017 season.

The club cannot exist without the Families that choose to play for us and the dedication from Coaches and Managers who give up their time to train and help improve the kid’s skills for game day.

The essence of Roselea FC is we are a family orientated club with the value of teaching the kids to enjoy the game of football and help with the improvement of their skills. To make new friends in a team that may not have everyone you know in it. To be able to walk off at the end of the game win, lose or draw and know they gave 100% with a smile on their faces thinking how good was that game.

The Committee is working on some new programs to help out the coaches and teams for the 2018 season and beyond. We are looking forward to the future of our club and making it the club people want to come to play for.

All the best for the rest of the year and hope to see you all return for another exciting year of football in the 2018 season.

As President I would like to acknowledge the great efforts of our Grand Finalist’s over the last 2 weekends.

In the Women’s competition we had 5 teams in with a chance of being Champions for 2017. They were the U14/3 Royal Blue, U14/3 Sky Blue, U18/2, AA4 and AA7. Unfortunately I was unable to attend any of the games due to work commitments, but I was assured they were all great games and did the club proud.

The victors on the day were U14/3 Royal Blue and AA7, well done. This win for the U14/3 Royal Blue made them Premiers and Champions which is a hard feat to do, congratulations.

In the boys competition we had 3 teams in with a chance of being Champions for 2017. They were U12/1, U14/4 and U17/2. I was fortunate enough to get around the grounds this weekend and saw some great football from all teams and did the club proud. The victors on the day were U12/1 and U14/4, well done.

This win for the U14/4’s made them Premiers and Champions which is a hard feat to do, congratulations.

To celebrate the end of a successful 2017 season Roselea FC Women’s hosted  its inaugural  4 aside Gala Day.

It was a beautiful winters day at Roselea Oval in Carlingford where over 110 female players from U7’s to All Age, formed twenty-two teams of 4 to 6 players to compete in small sided games.

We were privileged to be joined on the day by Ellie Carpenter, Australian Westfield Matilda Defender, fresh from winning the Tournament of Nations in the USA.  This included beating the USA for the first time as well as Japan and Brazil.

Ellie spent the afternoon mingling with the girls, signing everything the girls presented from water bottles to boots and socks and finished with awarding the grand finalists with their medals.  It was delightful to see Ellie, one of our countries elite, sharing the same love our football with our girls. Ellie is a fantastic role model for our players for what can be achieved with hard work and determination.

On the competition side, the girls loved playing the new format on the day which promoted fast attacking football, with no goal keepers, that requires good ball control and passing and nonstop running. The Gala Day included visiting teams from West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook FC as well many friends who were trying out football for the first time.  This is particularly important as we work to achieve our goal of a Girls/Women’s team in every age group in 3-5 years’ time, and we are well on our way.

Roselea FC thanks Parramatta Council for their support in achieving this goal. Roselea FC was recently awarded a Parramatta Council Grant for work for Prevention of Violence Against Women. Our part in this work is aimed at increasing girls and women’s participation in Football and team sport. Football is a great vehicle that instils values of teamwork, but more importantly, resilience and resolve in our girls as well as building strong, lifelong friendships. Thank you to Maggie Kyle, Community Capacity Building Officer, for joining us on the day to see the girls in action.  Councils support with facilities and funding made the day possible. We look forward to working with council on many projects in the future.

This is a great pre-curser to Summer Soccer.

The philosophy of the Little Athletics movement is summed up in the slogan:

"LITTLE ATHLETICS... FOR... FAMILY... FUN... and... FITNESS".

The community has become increasingly aware of the value of physical fitness, particularly in the fight against obesity. A fit body can mean an alert mind and a decrease in the incidence of many physical ailments.

Combined with FAMILY involvement... FITNESS can be...FUN in the happy environment of a Little Athletics centre.

Check out our website: http://www.nrclac.org.au/ for registration and more information or contact us.

Registrations open 1 August 2017.

We would love to see you join in the fun at North Rocks Carlingford Little Athletics this season!

After years of dreaming, months of planning, the girls were ready and pumped to represent Roselea Football Club.

We broke new ground.  The Roselea FC U14 Girls Kanga Cup Tour to Canberra was hopefully the first of many for Roselea FC boys and girls teams to head to Canberra in July to compete annually in the tournament.

We have learned a lot about how the whole process works and are hoping to share it, so start planning for next year.

Kanga Cup, in its 26th year, is the largest annual Football Tournament in the southern hemisphere.  This year it sets a new record of almost 400 teams aged U6 to U18 from around Australia and around the world.

Our Cup team will play against teams from Canberra, around NSW, New Zealand and South Korea.

Check out the Roselea FC Facebook page and Instagram where we shared our adventure with family, friends and the whole of Roselea Football club.

"It was an inspiring and empowering session with our talented and passionate football girls being mentored by Australia's best."
